Senior Executive - Compliance

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in monitoring regulations and regulatory change as well as industry best practice and update the market Horizon Scanning tracker as appropriate.
    • Assist Chief Compliance Officer in communicating actions to relevant stakeholders from analysis of regulations and track until completion.
    • Assist in ensuring regulatory consultations and other relevant publications to present at the MFLCs Compliance Committee Update and maintain the Briefing Notes Tracker to communicate to staff.
    • Identifying and trace reviews on new regulations affecting the MFLC.
    • Prepare weekly/ monthly Compliance Committee reports are completed and reported to EXCO and Board Committees
    • Prepare compliance Policy register and check if it is maintained and update it as required.
    • Assist Chief Compliance Officer in embedding best practice in relation to MIS and Governance. Maintain the Audit Tracker for any actions that the Compliance Department are required to complete and track the actions until completion.
    • Monitor and assist in the closure of audit issues.
    • Support in the monitoring and testing deliverables, undertaking Monitoring and Testing on a specified subject matter.
    • Assist in ad-hoc projects or tasks when requested in relation to Monitoring, Testing and Compliance.
    • Complement the actions of the other team members de-risking the Organisation.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Experience:

    • A ‘Level qualification or Diploma or Degree in related field such as professional qualification in Compliance and/or a legal or audit background or experience working as a regulator and or Proven compliance experience in Compliance and Risk roles / in the business supporting risk decision making and undertaking Compliance /Risk based internal audit work within a financial services entity.
    • Knowledge/Experience with financial institutions
    • Knowledge of Corporate, Institutional banking and Lease Finance preferable
    • MIS and Governance experience in Compliance, Risk related activities
    • Experience writing or updating Compliance Policies

Key Competencies:

Technical Skills:
    • A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within prudential regulations and financial conduct guidelines
Interpersonal Skills:
    • Exceptional communicator, results orientated and able to meet demanding deadlines
    • Excellent oral and written presentation skill with experience at reporting at senior level and forging strong relationship with the business.

Senior Executive - Internal Audit

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in identifying and assess areas of significant business risk.
    • Assist in implementing best audit and business practices in line with applicable internal audit statements.
    • Facilitate in managing resources and prepare audit assignments.
    • Identify and notify internal auditor plans to reduce all business and financial risks through effective implementation and monitoring of controls.
    • Prepare and assist in developing, implementing and maintaining internal audit policies and procedures in accordance with local and international best practice.
    • Compile and assist internal auditor to implement the annual Internal Audit plan.
    • Conduct ad hoc investigations advised by internal auditor into identified or reported risks.
    • Identify risk-based audits covering operational and financial processes and prepare reports for internal auditor.
    • Ensure complete, accurate and timely audit information is reported to Management and/or Risk Committees.
    • Overall preparation of planned annual audits.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Experience:

    • Minimum O’levels with minimum 2 passes/A Levels
    • Professional qualification in internal audit environment.
    • Exceptional accounting skills.
    • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent documentation, communication and IT skills.
